FY 2014 Legislative Mandates that remain in effect are as follows: 
(1) Salary Limitation (Section 203)
(2) Gun Control (Section 217)
(3) Anti-Lobbying (Section 503)
(4) Acknowledgment of Federal Funding (Section 505)
(5) Restriction on Abortions (Section 506)
(6) Exceptions to Restriction on Abortions (Section 507)
(7) Ban on Funding Human Embryo Research (Section 508)
(8) Limitation on Use of Funds for Promotion of Legalization of Controlled Substances (Section 509)
(9) Dissemination of False or Misleading Information (Section (515(b))
(10) Restriction on Distribution of Sterile Needles (Section 521)
(11) Public Access to Scholarly Publications (Section 525)
(12) Restriction of Pornography on Computer Networks (Section 526)
Additional Legislative Mandate in effect is as follows:
(13) Compliance with Guidance on the Spread of the Ebola Virus for Applicable Grants (603)”

These are really interesting to read – and I would love to read a (short) (shortshort) book on the history of each of these and the impact is has on research.
Like, the Porn one – what? So unrelated to the research, probably not based on a study showing that like scientists with federally-funded computer networks tend to develop crippling porn addictions.
