"The American Academy of Dermatology’s article about skin cancer and photoprotection acknowledges that for “blacks and Asians, UV radiation does not appear to be a major risk factor” in malignant melanoma. It also states the effectiveness and impact of sunscreen for black people is unknown since SPF sunscreens are tested only on light-skinned people. But the report goes on to recommend sunscreen for all people of color regardless of skin shade."
